ไอทีเรียกว่าเป็นสิ่งที่คอเกมสงสัยมาตลอดว่า ด้านบนของตลับเกม Famicom ทำไมต้องมีรู และล่าสุด web Afternoon News ของประเทศญี่ปุ่นได้ออกไปสอบถามนินเทนโด ว่าถึงเหตุผลที่ตลับเกมต้องมีรู โดยปู่นินได้ให้คำตอบว่า “มันเป็นดีไซน์ ของงานออกแบบ ไม่ได้มีอะไรมากกว่านั้น”

และ Afternoon News ได้สอบถามต่อไปว่ามันไม่ได้สร้างมาเพื่อรวมกับอะไรบ้างอย่างหรือ ซึ่งปู่นินได้ตอกย้ำไปว่ามันเป็นเพียง ดีไซน์ ไม่ได้มีอะไรมากไปกว่านั้นจริงๆ โดยนินเทนโด ได้ตอบคำถามถึงความแตกต่างของตลับเกมของค่ายอื่นอย่าง IREM ที่มีหน้าตาแปลกๆว่ามันเป็นเพียงงานออกแบบเท่านั้น ไม่ได้มีประโยชน์เพิ่มอะไร

เครื่องเกม Famicom วางขายในญี่ปุ่นปี 1983 ถือเป็นอีกเครื่องเกมที่มีความโดดเด่นเครื่องตลับเกม เพราะมีทั้งสีสันที่แตกต่าง และรูปร่างของตลับก็มีความหลากหลาย แต่ในอเมริกาตลับเกมจะใหญ่กว่าญี่ปุ่น และมีสีเทาเป็นหลัก แต่ก็มีบางตลับที่ทำสีอื่นออกมาให้โดดเด่นเช่น Zelda 2 ที่มีตลับสีทองออกมาด้วย
