It looks as if silhouette is going to stick around for 2019. The shoe originally returned this year in its original form, and then again as a part of the “Never Made” collection, which fused the uppers from past icons onto the latest and greatest adidas technology underfoot. The Marathon was fused with last year’s I-5923, AKA the Iniki. The hybrid silhouette created by these two was easily one of the best looking from the collection, though it was likely not the most hyped. Despite this, adidas has decided that the combined shoes will stick around, issuing a handful of colorways to invigorate the new look. This month, the Three Stripes has added two new colorways to their release calendar, both of which will release early in January. The first covers the shoe entirely in two shades of a khaki/tan color, while the second pair features varying shades of purple for a much more vibrant look.
The first color scheme features Legend , Cloud White and Active Purple while the second comes in an Ecru Tint, Cloud White and Clear Brown combination. The shoe features a futuristic spin on that classic style by pairing the archival upper with a Boost midsole. The upper is constructed with a mixture of suede and mesh for a breathable feel and textured look.
