The is headed to retailers this Thursday, January 8th. Inspired by the Nike Air Zoom Moire + (the first Swoosh silhouette to utilize + technology) from 2006, this version of the Air Max 1 ditches the computerized prowess and instead focusses on the materials used in the initial Moire. The AM1 is no stranger to new thought processes as the new outsole uses less materials than ever before. But the most noticeable difference is the synthetic suede, laser perforated, one-piece upper.
Bringing a new and intriguing look to a thirty year old silhouette can be a challenging task. silhouette is currently in its 31st campaign, and due to the brand’s incredibly ability to design colorways consumers have never seen before, it remains one of the most popular models on the market. Utilizing the sneaker’s recognizable color blocking, Nike has created another unique take on the icon, adding Mint Green to its outsole, tongue tab, and its instep, serving as this iteration’s focal point.
The is not a sneaker that we've seen too frequently with the all-over print treatment. Yeah it happened a couple of times this year thanks to those Leopard-printed FB versions, but more prevalent than that were the straightforward OG and Essential 1s that opted for a more standard setup. Shaking those standards again is this pair that's been dubbed the "Geometric" Air Max 1.
We previewed a trio of all suede Nike Air Max 1s back in the summer that has yet to return with any release info. Presumably, those three monochromatic makeups are still on the way, and if so, they are to be joined by more examples of all-suede AM1s as the pair pictured above readies for retail in the new year. These Dark Obsidian Air Max 1 Premiums add a Metallic Swoosh and a feature we're seeing in more 87s of late, the two-tone midsole split.
