Well, for years has been making one particular decision even more challenging than usual by selling two different versions of the same shoe: The legendary Gazelle. There’s the Gazelle OG, which was first introduced all the way back in 1968 as an indoor soccer shoe. Then there’s the Gazelle (sometimes called the Gazelle 2), which was introduced several years later, and is the version more common here in the United States.
The has been re-imagined over the years, with a variety of subtle changes to its profile, and shape keeping it fresh. The latest re-issue from adidas Originals sees the brand return close to the style’s sleek beginnings. Releasing a dope selection of Mens and Womens colourways in the Gazelle, adidas Originals re-affirm their place on top of the streetwear throne this season.
The is undoubtedly one of the most famous and iconic shoes ever produced by adidas and has a long history dating back to the middle 60s. Although the shoe may be viewed as relatively simplistic in a contemporary sense, its unassuming and clean looking silhouette has endeared it to its many fans ever since and ensured it has been in pretty much continuous production for 50 years.
Last year blessed us continuosly with a whole host of reissues that brought back memories of days gone by. One of the strongest stories that looks to be continuing into this year is the return of Gazelle. It’s ‘perfect’ form went down extremely well last year, making it’s way back onto the feet of fashions heads and everyday wearers alike.
The Super is a modified version of the popular Gazelle. Originally released in Yugoslavia in 1987, Adidas decided to bring back this almost forgotten model to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Available in blue or red, they both stay true to the '87 design with a soft suede upper, Gazelle Super ""window"" on the side panels, metallic gold lettering, and serrated 3-Stripes branding. Plus, they also feature classic pebbled midsole construction, and a soft synthetic leather lining. You can find both colorways now at Sneakerhead.
