The Cortez has also appeared in a variety of iterations, most notably in nylon and leather, while taking on colourways inspired by seasons, trends and celebrities.
19 years later, debuted the Shox R4 in 2000. The beginning of the 21st century was a strange time for sneaker design – most footwear enthusiasts will agree that Nike lost their way a bit, and got a little too experimental with their concepts by '99-‘00. Maybe it was the fact that people thought every computer was going to crash and the world was going to end when the clock struck midnight in 2000, so it wouldn't matter anyway. The sneaker creatives might as well design the craziest shoe possible before the human race ceased to exist.
took a trip back in time for design inspiration on their latest pack. San Francisco in the1960s was a period defined by hippies, free love, colorful fashion, and music. The iconic concert posters from that era became the main source of inspiration when designing the psychedelic Nike SB "Tripper Pack." Consisting of a Nike SB Dunk High and a Nike SB Janoski Max, both Tripper Pack models are constructed with a colorful textile upper that feature lyrics in a funky allover pattern.
