He gives the Titans a 10% chance of landing the talented wide out. Schein makes some great points in terms of the Titans needing to add weapons for Marcus in a make or break year. The Titans tried to trade for Amari Cooper back during the season, and their interest in Brown shows they are still trying to make a splash at the position. If a trade for AB doesn’t manifest, then I’m calling the Giants about what it would take to get OBJ. At some point, the Titans need to get a real set of weapons for Marcus, and hopefully this is the year, because time is running out on Mariota, and you can’t truly gauge what you have in him with Taywan Taylor and Tajae Sharpe getting significant snaps. Jim Wyatt answers a TON of AB questions in his mailbag.Charlie Casserly says that the Cardinals are shopping Josh Rosen. I’d be interested in Rosen depending on the price. He’s relatively cheap and is obviously a huge upgrade on Gabbert. Not to mention if things don’t work out with Marcus you have your guy for the future. If things do work out with Marcus, you ship him off to some other team for a high pick. DJ has the Titans selecting Christian Wilkins with the 19th pick in the draft. Duke Johnson, another DJ, is on the trade block. He’d be a very interesting trade target for the Titans if they chose to move on from Dion Lewis. New Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith wasn’t a household name, and there’s no evidence he knows Sean McVay.But Titans coach Mike Vrabel thinks he’s a good fit for what they need, offering something approaching stability for quarterback Marcus Mariota.Mariota is now on his fifth coordinator in as many years, but Smith was at least on staff (tight ends coach) so there’s familiarity there.“I think it’s what’s best for Marcus , and best for a lot of guys,” Vrabel said, via Jim Wyatt of the team’s official website. “We make decisions that are for the best interest of the Titans, and Marcus is a huge part and so are all of our other players.“This is the best thing for us, to continue down that path. We’re happy, I’m happy, and I am excited to give Arthur this opportunity and I know the coaches and players are excited as well.”Replacing new Packers coach Matt LaFleur is a big step for Smith, but Vrabel said he was comfortable with the choice after talking to a small group of options.“Ultimately it was easy, at the end,” he said. “We try and do our due diligence with everything we do. … We felt like in the end this was the best thing for us, and the right thing.”If things are largely the same, Mariota can focus his energies on physical recovery this offseason, and not worried about learning a whole new playbook.
