With spring officially upon us and California’s floral-heavy “super bloom” season in full swing, Vans and pro skater Lizzie Armanto are releasing a new capsule collection centered around the and Vans Slip-On. Using a rich lavender as the primary color, each shoe is built from a combination of premium canvas and suede, and also features technological enhancements like UltraCush sockliners and Duracap-reinforced underlays to ensure that they can withstand even the most intense skate sessions. It wouldn’t truly be a capsule collection without special detailing either, so each shoe features accents inspired by the traditional Japanese “Maneki-neko” cat — a symbol of good luck — on the sole.

Their luxe touch and signature refined detailing to silhouettes both classic and futuristic. However, they’ve never collaborated with before — at least until now. Kith and Vans are teaming up for their first-ever capsule collection, and they’re also bringing legendary brand and long-time Vans partner mastermind Japan into the fold. The capsule collection consists of four silhouettes — the Vans Sk8-Hi Zip LX, Vans SKi-Hi Zip LZ, Vans Old Skool LX, and Vans Slip-On OG — all of which are dressed in durable black canvas or supple brown leather.

Year in and year out, the Anaheim-based skate brand remixes its time-tested staples with the implementation of playful patterns the likes of its Peanuts collection, its Marvel’s Avengers capsule, and its numerous Mickey Mouse-ridden creations to name a few. Now, the Vans Era, Vans Slip-On, and silhouettes are calling upon a Romantic Floral aesthetic with black, blue, and red bases aided by white roses, which is commonly used as a symbol for love and affection to further its incredible arsenal.

Esteemed London-based retailer, Footpatrol is tapping into Vans Vault’s expansive archive to release a three-piece collaborative collection anchored by simple black and white color schemes. Calling upon the the the base of this collection, Foot Patrol’s premium aesthetic has elevated the models with luxe materials and a clean colorway. Hairy suede and canvas are used in conjunction for this set, while bringing a unique two-tone vibe that takes shape on both the uppers and outsoles of each shoe. Footpatrol branding takes shape in multiple key areas, including via an all-over graphic on the laces of the Sk8-Hi and Old Skool and coming on the lateral midsole of each, alongside an embossed kerb stone meant to emulate markings in London’s SoHo district.
