Kevin Durant’s signature shoe is ready for a debut soon as this energetic “90s Kid” vibe is set to release on Nike SNKRS and select retailers on April 1st. Featuring a non-heavy mix above a grey base, this launch colorway speaks to Durant’s childhood in the 1990s as it touches on the various themes and colors that made that decade so memorable. Retailing for $150, this debut colorway of the KD 12 will also be featured on Kevin’s feet as the Golden State Warriors take on the OKC Thunder.



It’s clear we’re getting closer and closer to the official unveiling of the , because Kevin Durant himself revealed a first look at a wild upcoming colorway of his twelfth signature shoe. The energetic vibes suggest that these could possibly by the debut “pre-heat” release of the KD12 model, while the white/black colorway that was revealed earlier this week is tentatively set to drop sometime in April. This upcoming release uses a volt, grey, and crimson base, with Nerf-esque markings on the heel counter, speckled midsoles, and the transparent upper revealing a bevy of layers as well as a free-floating Flyknit shell.

Kevin Durant’s in for a lot of “new” this Summer as rumors of him departing Golden State for a new and possibly final chapter of his NBA career. Before all that happens (or doesn’t happen), the two-time Finals MVP will usher in yet another new signature shoe with Nike called the KD 12; it’s radically different from the Flyknit-based models that have been the focal point of his shoes since the ninth model as a new softer, deconstructed upper takes its place.

The shoe is pretty much a full reset from the current line on a design and functional standpoint, and there’s a lot more practical innovation involved that serves needs that we’ll get into once the model is officially unveiled. The overall aesthetic has also completely transformed as the KD12 sports a 5/8th cut with some informational cues on the medial side, and there are certainly some high-energy colorways in the works as the Playoffs approach.

With this much young talent in one league, the Swoosh Brand wants to make sure what’s on the feet of the budding stars is just as noticeable as their play. To ensure that’s the case, these special KD 12s feature a veritable plethora of summer-specific accents and patterns on their grey base, ranging from the Georgia peach/bright neon accents to the floral embellishments on the midsole/heel and the checkered Swoosh. Each pair is then completed with an EYBL logo stamped boldly on the heel.
