If only you could winterize All your kicks. That’s the idea behind the Winterized, which features the age-old adidas classic indoor soccer shoe redefined and remade into a cold-weather-specific mid-top with suede and leather uppers and a trail-inspired lace-hook at the very peak of the lace placket. The tonal grey colorway matches the winter clouds and although we’d much prefer warmer, more comfortable climates, it doesn’t hurt to dress up your feet.



OG colorways have been rampant in recent months, filling up release calendars in many original toolings. With each footwear label following this dominating trend, adidas is following suit, bringing back the football-inspired Samba in a classic range of subtle palettes. Arriving in two different colorways, the base is kept a stark white while the sole unit is a timeless gum bottom. One features a pop of green along the heel and tongue while the other opts for a more versatile navy tone, harkening back to the impactful Stan Smith.

Known for adding luxury to the humble sweatsuit set, Oyster Holdings is going on to collaborate with the Three Stripes for two takes on the inspired by a fictional traveling challenge to end all: the World Traveler’s Cup. Colorways are vibrant with modifications outfitting the pair sparingly, plastering all three colorways — a bright blue, even brighter yellow, and bold red — with the brand’s small running man logo along the rear face. Goldfinished branding notes add a luxury the label is all to familiar with while the tongue’s trefoil goes against the grain in its international-themed update. Insoles hark to passport stamps for yet another connection to its overarching theme, finishing a pack as fitting as any.

Since it was first introduced in 1950 to give soccer players solid footing on icy turf, the adidas Samba has become one of the Trefoil Brand’s most beloved silhouettes — and now it’s releasing in an “MS” makeup inspired by the culture of another sport it boasts deep roots in: cycling. Arriving in a light “Easy Yellow” and a simple “Core Black,” the Samba MS keeps the OG shape intact, but adds a few new details: a branded tab on the tongue enables easy on/off, and the midfoot stripes are lifted all the way up to the top of the eyestays, leaving their embroidered outlines on the lower half for a unique branded look. With cycling in mind the shoes pile on new performance features too, as a gusseted tongue and water-repellant suede toe cap ensure the wearer’s feet stay dry in even the most inclement conditions. Reflective laces and a city map graphic on the insole then complete the look.

adidas, while focusing heavily on bringing back the past, has not forsaken the future as it gears to bring back the iconic silhouette in a much more updated tooling complete with Boost technology. Prepped right in time for the advent of 2019, the newest iteration — which adds an “RM” tagline to its namesake — is quite a far cry from the original as it ushers in a sleek upper, translucent blue sole unit, and some fitting branding hits.
