ไอที นักวิเคราะห์ Ming Chi-Kuo รายงานว่า Apple อาจบอกลา Intel เปลี่ยนไปใช้ชิปประมวลผล ARM ของตัวเองสำหรับ Mac ภายในปี 2020 หรืออย่างช้า 2021 ซึ่งตรงกับรายงานของ Bloomberg เมื่อเดือนเมษายนที่ผ่านมาว่า Apple จะเปลี่ยนไปใช้ชิปประมวลผลของตัวเอง

อย่างไรก็ตาม อาจต้องใช้เวลาสักพักเนื่องจากชิปประมวลผล ARM อย่าง Apple A12 Bionic นั้นจะแรงจริงแต่เมื่อนำมาเปรียบเทียบกับชิปประมวลผลของ Intel แล้วยังห่างกันนัก โดยเฉพาะอุปกรณ์ ​Mac ระดับ High end ที่จำเป็นต้องใช้สเปกสูงๆ เป็นต้น
