Exciting? Depressing? Either way , as a true fantasy fighter, you're either making a strong push into the playoffs or you have the mindset that you'll win out and make the tournament. No matter the circumstances, you feel as if nothing can bring you down. That is until you look at your roster and realize your team either has a plethora of injuries or is facing another major bye week. In week eight's column , we did well, hitting on 60 percent of our projections. There was a slight dip this week. Our projections stood at 50 percent even, however , that's not bad considering fantasy football is an educated guessing game anyhow. One big score for us was when we suggested you start Julian Edelman when all the prognosticators suggested that you sit him. (We'll give ourselves a quick pat on the back). We felt he would bounce back against a Denver secondary that would try to condense the field and force New England to throw underneath. That happened, and Edelman scored 20.9 fantasy points, as a result.And with that , let's move onto this week's fantasy projections (Quick note: All stats are based on Yahoo! fantasy). Good football teams in the NFL are built primarily through the NFL draft. It's the best opportunity to acquire young talent and not have to spend a boatload of money to get it. The franchises that have been the strongest in recent memory have all used the draft as a way to stockpile talent and then develop those players within their own system, with common examples being teams like the Steelers, Seahawks , and of course the New England Patriots. But don't let that make you underestimate the value of free agency either.Every offseason the free agency signing period creates a ton of buzz as most of the top names available are off the market within the first few days. Teams have to be ready to give their best pitch (and best contract offer) early on in the process if they want to have a chance to sign that potential franchise changing player. But not every free agent acquisition turns out to be as good as expected. Each year there are teams who throw big money at a player only to have them sign and play like garbage for their new team. Some teams miss more often than others, but every team has at least that one signing that they regret.This list takes a look at the past three free agency periods and picks one player that each team wishes they would have past on.
