OTTAWA -- Bishops University Jordan Heather was named Quebec conference player of the year Tuesday to become the first nominee for the Hec Crighton Trophy, presented annually to the most outstanding player in CIS football. . Heather, a fifth-year history major from Oromocto, N.B., established a single-season Canadian Interuniversity Sport record with 3,132 passing yards in eight games. He also set a (RSEQ) conference record with 20 touchdown passes. Hes the first Bishops player to claim the Jeff Russell Trophy since running back Jamall Lee in 2007.
