More Deconstructed Vans Shoes Are Releasing

After the late June release of deconstructed takes on both the , the California-based brand is bringing a similar stripped-down take to another one of their classic skate shoes: the Highland. The throwback silhouette arrives in a classic black/white colorway, complete with a white midsole and gum outsole, but that’s where the simplicity ends. The shoe then goes on to offer an abundance of unique deconstructed details, from a white and blue “Off The Wall” ribbon that drapes over the quarter panel to a checkerboard pattern that wraps around the heel before giving way to a “No Minimum” hit on the lateral side. The tongue is also turned inside-out, displaying the inner tab and manufacturing information for another rough-hewn touch of flair.

The Authentic – dressed in black – and the Slip-On – done up in red – carry the checkered graphic inside its flame graphic toward the toe, while the culture shifting Old Skool – sporting navy blue – sees its flames and checkers flowing all the way to where it wraps around the heel.

The “Calf Hair” pack, a set of three women’s-only silhouettes consisting of an Sk8-Hi, an Era, and a Slip-On. All three shoes in the pack feature premium leather and calf hair uppers, with the Sk8-Hi featuring a combination of leopard print and black leather, while the Era opts for white leather and cheetah print and the Slip-On offers an interesting combination of black leather and animal-style checkerboard print. All three shoes are completed by a white midsole with a black stripe and a classic Vans gum-colored waffle outsole.

and UK brand Lazy Oaf are teaming up to develop a collection that caters to the females only. This collection will consist of the Vans Authentic, Style 29, Old Skool Platform, and Slip-On models dressed in playful designs.The founder of Lazy Oaf, Gemma Shiel, explained in an interview that Lazy Oaf and Vans shared a lot of the same customers. Gemma then described their fan base as “nonconventional and keeps it weird in a playful way”. This collection will highlight four different designs consisting of the trendy checkered print and a floral pattern. The collection will also include matching apparel to complete the set.

Concepts and Vans are sparking up their partnership again this spring for a special 4/20 release of the . Celebrating the unofficial marijuana holiday, Concepts crafts the Vans Old Skool featuring a vintage print from the country most closely associated with the green herb, Jamaica. The Old Skool is constructed with the print on canvas paneling across the upper with suede in three shades: green, cream, and a more limited friends & family orange.
