With a versatile, new-yet-familiar look and an amicable price point, the has quickly become a lifestyle favorite, and now it’s appeared in a bold colorway, complete with a detail that just might indicate it’s inspired by pirates. The lightweight and flexible fabric upper offers a wide swath of tropical tones, ranging from a hot red on the forefoot to rich green and yellow on the midfoot and a deep royal blue with a small pop of teal on the heel.



Each color is then acknowledged by a single dot on the black suede heel overlay. The milky white midfoot cage secures flecked black rope laces, and down below, the generously-equipped React midsole features both blue and translucent black detailing. However, if you peer into the collar, you’ll find the most interesting embellishment: a cartoon-esque sun logo complete with a pirate-style eye patch covering his left eye on the insole. Using a mixture of clean white mesh and synthetic materials for its base layer, this new-age Nike Presto then equips Easter-esque pastel purples, yellows, and corals to provide its signature sporty flair.

Few things are more quintessentially retro than cassette tapes and a bold “Grape” color combination — a style that’s adorned everything from Air Jordan 5s to classic paper cups — so Nike has combined both for their newest React Presto colorway, titled the “Cassette.” An updated take on the classic Nike Presto, this React-equipped sneaker offers the same sock-like feel and fit, but adds fresh stylings and modern-day technology for a compelling fusion of old and new.

The upper combines white mesh and synthetic materials, while accents arrive via the ’s signature abstract midfoot cage in teal plus black suede overlays on both the heel and tongue. Small purple Swooshes then appear on both the aforementioned midfoot cage and the toebox to provide just enough branded flair. Down below, the white React midsole offers a familiar cored-out look and more black/purple embellishments, while the shoe is then completed by a purple cassette tape on the teal insole.
