The Jets are scheduled to unveil their new uniforms tonight. There was a rumored leak yesterday. Was this an actual leak or a fake? We will have to wait and see. While we wait it is a podcast mailbag day. Thanks to everybody who submitted podcast mailbag questions. The show couldn’t happen without you. Apologies if your question went unanswered. Feel free to resend for the next mailbag. On today’s show we talk about the new uniform leak , whether the new pieces the Jets signed actually fit, which regions of the country produce the best football players , a young player who can step up on defense and take a starting role, which style of back the Jets should pick to complement Le’Veon Bell , the best overtime system the league could adapt, which Jets great from the past could help the current team most , my Stanley Cup pick, and which color would be the best if team had to give up green.Jets 2018 Roster Countdown: Number 36 Doug Middleton Doug Middleton is the next player to get a look in our Jets roster countdown.Name: Doug MiddletonNumber: 36Year with Jets: 3rdProjected Role: Safety depthHis 2017: Middleton tore a pec in the preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans and missed the entire season.2018 will be a success if: Middleton can make the roster and provide some depth in subpackages. Helping the team on special teams would not hurt his cause either. Rontez Miles’ injury could create an opening for a guy like Middleton on that front. The AppalachianState product also has practice squad eligibility so he could catch on there as well.Odds of making the roster: Safety is a relatively full spot for the Jets , but Middleton was generating a bit of optimism last year. Perhaps I am being overly optimistic, but I think he could sneak onto the roster with a strong finish to the preseason. I put him at 50/50.
