With this week’s announcement that Kylie Jenner would be the new face of the , the already-popular retro silhouette was thrust even more directly into the spotlight. Now, it’s taking advantage of that recent surge of publicity with a whimsical new colorway. Featuring a combo of white mesh and light yellow leather as the base, this new Falcon utilizes an ocean blue suede on the mudguard and heel cage while a dark navy blue suede panel adorns the midfoot. Further colored details arrive via a tan suede throat, mint green tongue, and orange midfoot branded logo, while a bright silver hit on both the lateral and medial mudugard adds a striking pop of flair. The midsole features a two-tone grey and yellow look, and the shoe is completed by a black and pink outsole.

If there was any speculation on Jenner’s sneaker allegiance, that discussion is now laid to rest. Her brief and unfruitful partnership with Puma was met with considerable backlash from her brother in-law Kanye West, but it’s now come full circle as the Three Stripes has officially announced a partnership with the lipstick-slinger, making her the de facto face of the new adidas Falcon silhouette. adidas says this partnership has deep roots, as both Jenner and the adidas Falcon Dorf – a mid 90s runner that inspired the Three Stripes’ current wave of chunky runners – were both born in 1997. It’s more of a convenient coincidence for the brand to take advantage of.

With an upper featuring bold paneled detailing and an aggressive midsole taken from the , the ladies-only adidas Falcon is an undoubtedly striking silhouette. Now, the Three Stripes has turned the eye-popping detail up another notch by adding a wild combo of blues and pastel colors to the heritage-inspired sneaker. Calling upon a light teal mesh for the base, the upper features a veritable cornucopia of colorways on the suede and leather overlays: navy blue, purple, fuschia, and steel grey all make an appearance, as do small chromed-out hits on both the lateral and medial forefoot. The crazy color combination doesn’t stop on the midsole either, as the heel receives an aqua blue, the midfoot is dressed in grey, and the forefoot opts for a simple white. A black and pale yellow outsole with fuschia detailing and a grey midfoot plate complete the shoe’s wild look.

This Fall, adidas will be turning its attention toward the brand new silhouette. Serving as the Three Stripes’ latest addition to its chunky running family, the Falcon takes inspiration from key models in its storied past. Utilizing the midsole of the modern YUNG-1 that will soon release as part of the adidas Dragon Ball Z collection, the Falcon also borrows the name from the influential Falcon Dorf model that originated in the 90s.

Having been popularized due to its inclusion in the adored Dragon Ball Z x collection dressed in a colorway for the show’s chief protagonist Frieza, the adidas Yung-1 is back once again in a tonal color scheme set to exclusively release at Size?. Done up entirely in a “Craft Ochre” color scheme composed of premium suede, the nostalgic, Falcon Dorf-inspired silhouette is primed and ready for the Fall weather. In the early stages of the Yung-1’s life we have seen numerous shops and retailers utilize the vast layering of the chunky model to create exorbitant color schemes, but the striking use of one hue this time around allows for the chunky nature of the sneaker to propel itself to the forefront.
