AMBER Murdoch is returning to River City and while fans might recognise the name, they won't be familiar with the face.
The role is being taken over by Edinburgh actress Jenny Hulse, who will make her first appearance on March 8 before joining the soap on a regular basis in April.

For Jenny, 30, it was fifth time lucky as she previously auditioned without success for parts in the show.
She said: "People say, 'What's for you won't go by you' and this part just seemed right. I knew the casting director pretty well but didn't know how the audition had gone. However, I got a call from my agent to tell me I'd got the part and went straight to the pub.
"Quite early on in the audition I thought, 'I know how to play this girl, this is someone who sits back when she is speaking to people and lets them come to her'.
"I'm glad it's this part. It's an exciting, strong, female role and it has been worth waiting for."

Lenny, played by Frank Gallagher, named his taxi company Ambercabs after her. But being in prison for the last five years has changed Amber and she returns with a tougher and darker personality, not to mention with Jenny's red hair rather than Lorna's dark locks.
The actress was already a fan of the soap and studied footage of Amber before her audition. She was aware of how different she looked and was amazed to get the role.
She said: "I look different but they are obviously embracing the change. It's a complete re casting. It's embracing that tradition of soaps and continuing dramas bringing back characters played by completely different actors.
"My first scenes are in jail and Amber has grown up a lot. She relies heavily on the Murdoch name so she has been the Queen Bee in jail but let others do the dirty work. She's cold and has to be in control of every situation.
"Quite a lot of the time, I get cast as a nice girl. This is a departure from that, which I'm excited about."
"But I was familiar with what Frank was doing in the show and he's a lovely guy, very supportive, as is Jordan. They are the only two I've worked with so far."
